Glock Binary - SHOT Show Range Day was a blast for the mic that threw down the Franklin Armory. They introduced Glock's binary trigger. Yes, you read that right. The pull/release trigger is designed for use with a Glock. We took a closer look at the show floor and captured it on a remote day.

When Franklin Armory came out with its binary trigger, it was always a dream for a Glock. Until now it was impossible. Well, the engineers at Franklin Armory did just that. Life finds a way. Glock's binary trigger is called the G-S173.

Franklin Armory will make its Glock binary trigger for the Glock 17, but it won't be a simple trigger swap. To have a Glock binary trigger, they worked some magic with the slide to work with the trigger. So when you buy a Glock binary, it comes with a slide and trigger. You must supply your own barrel, frame and recoil spring.

What To Do If Your Polymer80 Or Glock Double Fires? It May Be Your Aftermarket Connector

You can see that the Glock binary slide is not the same as the regular Glock 17 OEM slide. There are cuts in the slide to absorb the magic.

Just like their other binary triggers, the Glock binary trigger will have a selector switch. This is the rotary switch on the left side of the slide. Flip it open for one hit. Flip it down for drag/drop binary mode.

Franklin Armory had two prototypes on hand. Below is a nicer prototype with the optics cut off at the top.

Below is another prototype. They are not sure if they will offer to reduce the optics, they are still deciding. I hope they do. They also explore options with sliding spaces.

What Is A Binary Trigger

I also shot at the range day. I found the trigger a little different than I'm used to. But it works. I also shot a slow motion close-up of the trigger to see how it moves when manipulated in binary mode. I learned some interesting things about this trigger at high speed.

If you look at the slow motion footage, you can see the trigger reset in two stages upon release. It goes about half way and the striker is freed to shoot the next round. Then, as the slide completes its backward movement, pull the trigger forward to its final position, where you continue to pull the trigger back for the next shot.

Franklin Armory plans to sell the Glock binary G-S173 for $899. While some have sticker shock, remember that a regular binary trigger is around $300 and a HK binary trigger is $700. That makes the slide just an extra $199. You still have to supply your own barrel and recoil spring. They are planning a Q2 release date.

You can see that the Glock binary is not the same as the Glock 17 OEM stock image. The slide is notched to accommodate the mag.

Like their other binary triggers, Glock's binary triggers will have a switch. This is the rotary switch on the left side of the slider. Flip it for one shot. Lower it to extract/release the binary mode.

I also shot it on Range Day. I found the launcher to be a bit different than what I'm used to. But it works. I also shot a slow motion close-up of the trigger to see how it moves when manipulated in binary mode. I learned some interesting things about this high speed trigger.

If you watch the slow motions carefully, you can see that the trigger resets in two stages when it is released. He moves forward about halfway and the striker is freed to shoot for the next round. Then, when the slide finishes recoiling, the trigger moves forward to its final position, where you pull the trigger again for the next shot.

Franklin Armory plans to sell the Glock G-S173 binary for $899. While some may have sticker shock, remember that the regular binary launcher is around $300 and the HK binary launcher is $700. That makes the recording just another $199. Custom barrels and recoil springs still need to be supplied. They are planning a Q2 release date.

When Franklin Armory came out with their second hand, it was always a dream to have one for Glock. So far it seems impossible. Well, the engineers at Franklin Armory did. Life finds a way. The Glock binary trigger is called the G-S173.

You can see the Glock binary slide is not the same as the standard Glock 17 OEM slide. There is a cut in the slide to insert the magic.

Just like their other binary triggers, the Glock binary trigger will have a switch. It's the switch on the left side of the slider. Turn it into a syringe. Turn it on to find binary format.

Franklin Armory has two examples on hand. The one below is a good looking model with optics cut.

Below is another example. They are not sure if they will give Optics a cut or not they are still deciding. I hope they do. They explore options with slide cuts.

I also shot it at Range Day. I found the translation to be a little different than what I'm used to. But it works. I also recorded slow motion of the trigger to see how it behaves when used in binary mode. There are some interesting things I learned about this trap from high speed.

If you watch the animation carefully you can see the start again in the two output stages. He moved forward about half way and the attacker was released to fire next. Then when the slide finishes reloading, the trigger is kicked forward to its final position where you continue to pull the trigger again for the next shot.

Franklin Armory plans to sell a pair of Glock G-S173s for $899. Although some may have stickers, keep in mind that the standard binary trigger is around $300 and the HK binary trigger is $700. This makes the slide only $ 199. You will also have to put your barrel and recoil spring. They are planning a Q2 release date.

Glock Binary Trigger Slide - SHOT Show Range Day was buzzing about the microphone thrown by Franklin Armory. They introduced the Glock dual trigger. Yes, you read that right. The pull/release trigger is designed for use with the Glock. We took a closer look at the show floor and shot it in the sun.

When Franklin Armory came out with a dual trigger, it was always a dream to have one for the Glock. Until now, this seemed impossible. The engineers at Franklin Armory did just that. Life finds a way. The Glock double trigger is called the G-S173.

You can see that the Glock dual slide is not the same as the regular Glock 17 OEM slide. There are cutouts in the slides to adjust the magic.

Like other double triggers, the Glock double trigger will have a selector switch. The rotary selector switch is on the left side of the slide. Flip it up for a single shot. Turn it down to drag/drop dual mode.

Franklin Armory had two prototypes on hand. Below is a nice looking prototype with the optics cut out.

Below is a prototype. Not sure if they'll give the optics a cut, they're still deciding. I hope they do. They also explore options with cut slides.

I also shot it at Range Day. I noticed that the products are a little different than what I'm used to. But it works. I also filmed slow motion of the trigger to see how it behaves when used in dual mode. There are some interesting things I learned about this trigger from high speed.

If you look closely at the slow-moving leg, you can see that it retracts the trigger in two steps. It advances to the halfway point and the player is freed to shoot the next part. Then when the slide finishes repeating, it pushes the trigger forward to its final position while continuing to pull the trigger back again for the next shot.

Franklin Armory plans to sell the Glock binary G-S173 for $899. While some may be shocked by the sticker, keep in mind that the regular dual trigger is $300 and the HK dual trigger is $700. That makes the slide just an extra $199. You still need to provide your own barrel and recoil spring. They are planning a Q2 release date.
